As a former President of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board and a proud recipient of the prestigious MCNE designation, Scott believes that Realtors should subscribe to a high code of ethics and demonstrate a professional standard of business practices. Scott has been a licensed Realtor for over thirty years and has been involved in nearly every element of real estate. While first and foremost a residential Realtor, in 1989 Scott earned one of fewer than 300 commercial designations within the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board. He has leased retail malls and warehouses, worked with developers selling multi-family projects and has been a strata president. He has helped non-profit societies acquire and dispose of properties.

 

Working for Home Owners

 

Scott has also spent a significant amount of time lobbying the provincial and federal governments for legislative changes that would benefit home owners. While president of the Real Estate Board, Scott traveled to Victoria on several occasions to lobby for a reduction in the property transfer tax and to Ottawa to lobby for changes to the first time home owners grant.

 

Scott has also been invited several times to make submissions to the provincial government's Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services. Through three decades of buyer markets, and seller markets, with interest rates from 2 to 20 percent, Scott has helped a long list of very satisfied clients achieve their dream of home ownership.
